In this post, I will talk about some of the steps that can be taken to ensure that we reduce our stress levels. Try to get up fifteen minutes earlier each morning so that you can go about your daily morning tasks in a much more relaxed manner.Never lie about small things. While most of us by default, would hesitate and think a lot about lying about big things, we often, lie about small, inconsequential things. While it may be cause too much harm in the long run, the nagging guilt we feel often wears us down… Try to avoid negative thoughts.Though this may surprise you, negative thoughts are one of the chief reasons for our high stress levels.Afterall, there isn;t much use in worrying about things that are beyond our control. Try to bring up a smile on someone's face. You might ask me how bringing up a smile on someone else's face can reduce your stress levels. The best way to make yourself feel happy is to make others around you happy. Be ready to forgive others. Harboring hatred or illwell over a long time, can greatly increase anxiety, guilt and stress.

Benefits of working from home

With the advent of the internet, more and more people are resorting to working for themselves, by sitting at home, rather than continuing to work at stressful jobs. There are significant advantages to be gained by working at home. You can get enough sleep, which is proving to be increasingly difficult while working at most other jobs. You can reduce stress, reduce your expenses,by avoiding commuting costs, costs of eating outside and so on. But the next question, that arises is which schemes to choose, to work at, from home. There are now as many fraudalent schemes as there are authentic schemes.Hence, we have to be extremely cautious and ensure that we spend our money and time on the truly authentic ones. One such venture is the affliate program where you get access to one of the best penis extender in the market. Besides, they provide one of the highest commision rates in the market-thus ensuring high value for the time we spend. They also have one of the safest penis enlargement devices in the market. Thus, this is the place to go, if you are looking for large penis sizes without surgical enhancement.

Why it is important to manage stress

In the hectic world that we live in, almost all of us are under stress, with only the difference being in the level of stress, that we are subject to. In such a world, it is important we are all aware of not only how to reduce stress but about the importance of managing stress as well . We must realise that the bills are never going to stop coming, that we would find ourselves short on time to complete most tasks and that our career is always going to be demanding. Just by realizing the simple fact, that no matter what we do, how we do it and when we do it, we are going to be faced with stress. In fact, studies advocate that this realization forms the basic stepping stone towards managing stress. This leads us to the important question- Is it more important to reduce the stress in my life or modify our reaction to stress? Most of us, wouldn't be able to make any distinction between these two . But we should understand the basic difference between those things that we experience as challenges and how we respond to it. When we do this, we would already started taking steps towards reducing stress.

Different forms of exercises-Cycling

Almost everyone realises the benefits of cycling these days.Besides being a workout for the entire body, it is also one of the most pleasurable exercises. The sites that u can get to see while going on cycling tours are truly breathless and more and more countries are actively publicising their cycling trails, thereby encouraging more and more people to take up cycling.

As with every other form of exercise, you need to make sure that you have the basic essentials ready. Recently I was online looking for cycling equipment online, when I came across Shopwiki. Most other sites only display those sites that have paid the site, whenever any search is made. But this site displays all the relevant sites thus allowing us to make a better choice.

Besides, you can also search for different kinds of bicycles here. For example, you can find cycles for kids, mountaineering cycles, comfort bikes and so on. It is the perfect place to go, if you are looking for the best deals on cycling related products.

Different forms of exercise-Salsa and Dance aerobics

The first time I heard of Salsa, I was only reminded of the spicy mexican sauce. I had been of the opinion that the only good that you can get from boxing is a black eye!! Intrigued-I started checking up the benefits of boxing on the net and also went to my local fitness centre to try boxing. I soon started to realize the varied health benefits that boxing can bring. It is a whole body workout. It takes the best aspects of workouts used by some of the world’s most finely conditioned athletes, boxers. It combines them into a fitness program that is safe for people like us. It works most of the human body’s physiological systems. The musculoskeletal system becomes stronger through specialized resistance exercises and boxing specific equipment drills. The cardiorespiratory and vascular systems become more efficient through workouts that are more than 60% anaerobic. The central nervous system is trained to respond faster and more efficiently to punching combination drills. Intensity is the trademark of a Boxing workout. As indicated above, it is more than 60% anaerobic. Many of the drills are made up of two or three minute rounds, with one minute recovery periods. You push through your current lactate threshold and improve it during the round, or anaerobic interval, by working at 85-90% of your maximum heart rate. The one minute rest period, you learn to more efficiently recover your oxygen debt while simultaneously stretching and reviewing proper technique.

Different forms of exercise-Martial Arts

In the last few posts, I have been talking about different forms of exercises and how they can be made into fun activities. On that context, let us talk about the benefits of martial arts as an exercise form. The include increased self-confidence, energy, strength, stamina and mental capacity. Many forms are no slouch in the calorie and fat-burning department, incinerating as many as 600 calories per one-hour class. Martial artists also report reduced stress levels, fewer physical injuries and illness and a strengthened immune system. The term martial art encompasses a wide variety of styles, methods and technique including Judo,Kung fu, Karate,Tae Kwon Do and Tai Chi.In respectable martial arts schools students do hundreds of pushups, often more than 200 in one set, hundreds of squats and sit-ups. Such strength and muscular endurance are what allow doing as many correct repetitions of techniques as it takes to make them effective and reliable. There are more benefits of such muscular endurance: staying relaxed during sparring or fighting (people with poor muscular endurance tense more and expend more energy than those with high endurance), the ability to take hard shots on the muscles with less bruising than poorly conditioned people, and self-confidence—bullies find it hard to intimidate someone who knows that he or she can outdo and outlast the bully.Build a strong muscular and skeletal structure before attempting sport-specific strength and endurance exercises. and develop flexibility before increasing resistance. In general strength exercises initially use light loads that permit full range of motion.

Different forms of exercise-Snorkeling

An underwater sport involving considerable amount of swimming and diving with special equipment is Snorkeling. It involves swimming underwater for extended periods of time; These exercises are undertaken by varied sets of people including but not restricted to rescue teams, divers and for recreational purposes. This can burn a significant number of calories per hour. burning approximately 435 calories per hour for an average 145-pound person. Mental awareness and physical fitness are the most important attributes concerning this sport. The first time you put on a pair of fins and swim long enough to learn to use them, you will experience next day soreness and possibly cramps. Too avoid this pain in the future, here are some simple leg exercises you might want to try.Snorkelers should be aware that their backside can be exposed to the sun for extended periods and can burn badly, without being noticed. Wearing appropriate covering such as a "rash guard" , a wetsuit and/or sunblock will mitigate the risk of sunburn. Sunblocks and lotions have the added advantage of minimizing stings from water-borne creatures such as jellyfish and other micro-organisms.Snorkeling is possible in almost any body of water, but snorkelers are most likely to be found in locations where there are minimal waves, warm water, and something particularly interesting to see near the surface.

Different forms of exercise-Rowing

In this post, I will be telling all of you about one of my most favorite exercises-rowing. Rowing usually used to mean doing it on one of the local lakes/rivers on a bright sunny day and hence wasn't favored by a lot of people as it meant that it could not be sustained during winters. But, now, with the advent of indoor rowing machines, that problem seems to have been solved.Rowing is a non-impact activity that can improve endurance, strength and flexibility. As indoor rowing can be done all year around, fitness gains can be cumulative: there’s no need to “start over” with another sport when the season changes.Technique is especially important in indoor rowing, with many of the benefits related to proper alignment of the body during each phase of the stroke. Basically, you need to learn to move your legs, torso and arms in the right sequence. With proper technique, rowing improves flexibility because it uses most of the major muscle groups in a wide range of motion. It is also ideal for losing weight.nother positive point about the rowing machine is the ability for the user to create a rhythmic style while exercising. This technique really helps the body "switch" into that fat burning zone and after about 10 minutes of rowing you can rest assured your body is burning fat constantly to help you lose fat weight effectively.

Different forms of exercise-Rock climbing

In the last post, I was talking about, how adopting different forms of exercise can decrease the inherent bore associated with doing the same form of exercise again and again. In this post, I will talk about rock climbing and how it can both be exciting and strenuous. Rock climbing can be just as taxing as running. In many cases it's more taxing than running could ever be. Rock climbing in the mountains is amongst the most exhausting of all exercises. This is because in the mountains you are climbing with a pack and the climbing is often sustained for long periods of time. In addition, you have to deal with a long approach hike with an even heavier pack just to get to the start of the actual climbing, without even considering the effects of high altitude.Replacing fluids during and after climbing exercise is absolutely essential. Drink before you feel thirsty. If you are thirsty, it is because you already have started dehydrating. After the rock climbing exercise session, eat complex carbohydrates and avoid fatty and oily foods. This type of eating is not that appealing, but is the most effective way to replenish the depleted glycogen in your liver and speed your recovery.Along with carbohydrates and fluids, rest is essential for a speedy recovery and the rebuilding of muscle glycogen.

Different forms of exercise-Caving

I have been asked by many of my friends on how I have been able to continue my quest for fitness by exercising daily. They have asked me, if I have never become bored of the exercising routine. This is one of the most common excuses for giving up exercising. But, I have never restricted myself to one form of exercise for a long amount of time and this in turn has helped me to stay interested in exercising regularly. So, I thought about writing about the different forms of exercises that I have tried and the relative merits and demerits of each of them, so that you can choose between them and try out whichever one is best suited to your needs. The first one that I am going to talk about is caving.Caving is vigorous exercise, which will keep you comfortably warm, but you'll find that you get chilly when you're not moving. You could be underground for at least a couple of hours, so it's important to dress properly. The sport of caving, also known as spelunking, is truly a physical and mental exploration. In addition to hiking to and inside of the cave, you’ll also pull yourself up large rocks, slide down crevices and sometimes crawl on your elbows — all in the dark!Caving is fantastic exercise to both the body and the mind

Some tips to improve posture and reduce risk of injury

In the last post, I was talking about Ergonomics and the need for good posture while working. It is important to understand that we can pick up bad postures not only while working but while doing almost any of our day-to-day activities like driving, sitting, standing or even sleeping. If not corrected at an early stage, it can lead to serious injuries in the long run. But, by following some of the simple guidelines given below, we can easily improve our posture and ergonomics. Know the warning signs of back pain caused by poor ergonomics and posture. Back pain may be the result of poor ergonomics and posture if the back pain is worse at certain times of day or week. Get up and move. As muscles tire, slouching, slumping, and other poor postures become more likely; this in turn puts extra pressure on the neck and back. In order to maintain a relaxed yet supported posture, change positions frequently. One way is to take a break from sitting in an office chair every half hour for two minutes in order to stretch, stand, or walk. Keep the body in alignment while sitting in an office chair and while standing. Distribute body weight evenly to the front, back, and sides of the feet while standing. While sitting in an office chair, take advantage of the chair’s features. Sit up straight and align the ears, shoulders, and hips in one vertical line.
Use posture-friendly props and ergonomic office chairs when sitting. Supportive ergonomic “props” can help to take the strain and load off of the spine. Ergonomic office chairs or chairs with an adjustable back support can be used at work. Footrests, portable lumbar back supports, or even a towel or small pillow can be used while sitting in an office chair and while driving.
Increase awareness of posture and ergonomics in everyday settings. Being aware of posture and ergonomics at work, at home, and at play is a vital step towards instilling good posture and ergonomic techniques. This includes making conscious connections between episodes of back pain and specific situations where poor posture or ergonomics may be the root cause of the pain.

Why is it important to know about Ergonomics?

Two Greek words ergon and nomoi are said to have been the origin of the term ergonomics. 'Ergon' means work and 'nomoi' means natural laws.It is used in the definition of postures that reduce the risk of unnecessary sedantary work and also reduce the impact of various forces acting on the body. Following some simple steps can significantly reduce our risk of injury. All work activities should permit the worker to adopt several different, but equally healthy and safe postures.Whereever muscular force has to be exerted it should be done by the largest appropriate muscle groups available.Work activities should be performed with the joints at about mid-point of their range of movement. This applies particularly to the head, trunk, and upper limbs. In order to put these recommendations into practice, a person would have to be a skilled observer of his or her own joint and muscle functioning and would have to be able to change his or her posture to a healthier one at will. No one develops this sort of highly refined sensory awareness without special training. Any attempt to improve workplace conditions can have only limited success if this issue is ignored.People should become aware of ways in which they are misusing their bodies, and how their everyday habits of work may be harming them.

Steps to be taken to avoid Dry Eyes

We have all heard the saying that "Prevention is better than cure". Yet, most of us don't take the neccessary precautions to ensure that we avoid getting diseases that could have been easily avoided. The same is the case with Dry eyes about which we have been talking about in the last few posts. Taking few simple steps can ensure that we don't get dry eyes. I hope that atleast a few of those who read this post, follow these simple steps to ensure that they don't ever suffer from dry eyes.Avoid having a fan directly on your face.Drinking plenty of water and restorative fluids may seem obvious, but if you are dehydrated, your eyes will be dehydrated too.Studies have found that certain combinations of vitamins, minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids tend to decrease inflammation and improve tear gland secretions. TheraTears Nutrition, HydroEye, and Hydrate Essential are examples of these nutritional supplements. Fish consumption, such as salmon, sardines, and mackerel, can be helpful in adding omega-3 to diet.If the problem is environmental, you should always wear sunglasses when outdoors, to reduce exposure to sun, wind and dust. You may want to try the kind that has a foam or other seal at the sides, to keep wind and dust from getting to your eyes at the top, bottom and sides.Indoors, an air cleaner can filter out dust and other particles from the air, while a humidifier adds moisture to air that's too dry because of air conditioning or heating. If you wear contact lenses, be aware that many eye drops, especially artificial tears, cannot be used while your contacts are in your eyes. You'll need to remove them before using drops and wait 15 minutes or even longer before reinserting the lenses. If your eye dryness is mild, then contact lens rewetting drops may be sufficient to make your eyes feel better, but the effect is usually only temporary.

Dry eyes-Treatment

In the last post, I was talking about some of the causes and symptoms of dry eyes. In this post, I talk about how dry eyes are treated and what steps can be taken to ensure that it is prevented from occuring in the first place. Though dry eyes cannot be cured, there are a number of steps that can be taken to treat them. Treatments for dry eyes may include:Temporary punctal occlusion. Sometimes it is necessary to close the ducts that drain tears out of the eye. This is done via a painless procedure where a plug that will dissolve quickly is inserted into the tear drain of the lower eyelid. This is a temporary procedure.Artificial tear drops and ointments. The use of artificial teardrops is the primary treatment for dry eye. Artificial teardrops are available over the counter.Permanent punctal occlusion. If temporary plugging of the tear drains works well, then silicone plugs (punctal occlusion) may be used. The plugs will hold tears around the eyes as long as they are in place.Other medications. Other medications, including topical steroids, may also be beneficial in some cases.Surgery. If needed, the ducts that drain tears into the nose can be permanently closed to allow more tears to remain around the eye.

Dry eyes-Causes and Symptoms

One of the most sensitive parts of our human body are our eyes. It is a complex organ. Hence, lots of issues and problems can occur. One such common problem associated with our eyes is the Dry Eye Syndrome. Our eyes are dependent on the flow of tears to maintain constant moisture and lubrication, that in turn ensure proper vision and good comfort. Dry eyes occur when there is an imbalance in the tear system.Persistent dryness, scratching and burning in your eyes are signs of dry eye syndrome. These symptoms alone may be enough for your eye doctor to diagnose dry eye syndrome. But sometimes he or she may want to measure the amount of tears in your eyes. A thin strip of filter paper placed at the edge of the eye, called a Schirmer test, is one way to measure. Some people also experience a "foreign body sensation," the feeling that something is in the eye.And it may seem odd, but sometimes watery eyes can result from dry eye syndrome, because the excessive dryness works to overstimulate production of the watery component of your eye's tears. Dry eye can also be caused by the drying out of the tear film. This can be due to dry air created by air conditioning, heat, or other environmental conditions. Other conditions that may cause dry eyes are: The natural aging process, especially during menopause. Side effects of using certain medications such as antihistamines and birth controlpills. Diseases that affect the ability to make tears, such as Sjogren's syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis and collagen vascular diseases also causes dry eyes.

Some more tips to lose weight

In our last post we were looking at some of the simple steps that can be taken to lose weight. In this post, we look at some other simple steps that can be taken to reduce weight without going for expensive diet pills or other weight loss products in the market.
"Weight" it out. Just two 30-minute total-body weight-training sessions a week will strengthen and build the muscles you're working and increase your metabolism. The goal is to build lean muscle mass, which will result in a bigger calorie burn.Break it up. Only have time for half of your usual hour-long workout? Go anyway, or do two 30-minute workouts of cardio or weight training during different times of the day, Lewis says.Train for a marathon, minitriathion or backpacking adventure- To take the focus off weight loss and put it on gaining strength, speed and/or endurance, you must embark on any one of the above mentioned things. You'll lose weight naturally if you balance your calorie intake and stay committed to your training.Ward off exercise boredom -You can do this by alternating gym workout routines, trying new machines and classes (yoga, Spinning, Pilates, kickboxing) or heading outside for hiking, biking, etc.Listen to your body. If something doesn't feel right -- you experience muscle cramping, develop chest pains, become overly fatigued or winded, feel thirsty, lightheaded or dizzy -- stop and check it out. If rest doesn't seem to relieve your concern, talk to your doctor. That way you can catch potential health problems early rather than risk injury and lose all momentum.

Simple steps to lose weight

People concerned with their appearance most often target losing some of their excess weight. Antd the way they do is pretty varied. Most experts ask us to eat well and exercise. But, there are numerous products on the market that boast that they help a lot in losing weight. In fact, there are now so many products that we aren't sure about which of them do indeed help and which of them are just circulating duplicate claims. Instead of going for these products there are simple ways to try and lose weight. We look at some of them here. Eat nine servings of summer fruits and vegetables daily. Packed with vitamins, A, C and E, phytochemicals, minerals, carbs and fiber, produce is healthy, filling, and naturally low in calories and fat. Enjoy it at meals, snacks and before/after exercise to stay full, feel energized and lose weight.Use lowfat cooking techniques. Avoid frying and sauteing with butter and use slimmer techniques like steaming, baking, grilling (the barbecue is ideal for this) or stir-frying.Do at least 20 minutes of cardio four times a week. A short duration of high-intensity activity will elevate the heart rate for two to four hours. An hour of moderate hiking burns about 300 calories; an hour of moderate cycling, about 380. Or try a new sport (in-line skating, surfing) to break out and work muscles you don't normally target.

Quality Sideboard-to reduce the spread of germs

Apart from taking various steps to ensure that we stay healthy, we need to take certain necessary precautions to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria. One of the most basic steps and one often ignored by many, is the fact that the items that we use, while we are having dinner such as linen and tableware should be stored in a place where there isn't much chance for the bacteria or other germs to live and spread on them. It is here that the importance of quality sideboard come in.

One should be careful while choosing the sideboards to buy. We should try to cut down too much on the cost by going for cheap, quality less sideboards, that can affect us in the long run. One of the best places to buy quality sideboards is online where you can compare the prices and quality of various pieces of sideboards and decide between them. According to me, the best place to buy these sideboards online is at GoModern.

They sell quality sideboards made in Italy by European designers. It is therefore, to our benefit to take good care of it. Following are some tips to improve and maintain eyesight.Rub your palms together and lay them lightly on the eyes. The warmth from the palms will sooth the nerves and increase blood circulation.Eye stretching exercise - Close both eyes shut and then open them suddenly.Close your eyes and circulate them in all directions. Do this slowly but steadily. Concentrate on one eye at a time.Sun bathing is good for your eyes. Don't try to look at the sun directly. Exercise your eyes by looking both sides, up and down trying to allow as maximum sunlight.Make an effort to stare at something in the distance every 30-60 minutes for at least 30 seconds. This exercise helps our eye's ability to focus on distant objects instead of concentrating only on things near by.Nod your head from time to time to strengthen the muscles in your neck, which in turn helps in increasing the blood flow to the brain and eyes.Hold a chopstick and pencil at right angles. Have the eye travel along the horizontal stick to the intersection, then up the vertical pencil and back again to the starting point. Gradually slide the vertical pencil closer, each time letting the eye travel along the distance from starting point to intersection, to the tip of the vertical pencil and back again. Slide the upright pencil back and forth seven or eight times, always following it with the eyes.

Using Multifocal lens to overcome Presbyopia

One of the most common things associated with aging has been diminishing eyesight. Most of these people are affected by short-sightedness or Presbyopia. While most of their regular activities are not affected by Presbyopia, they tend to having problems reading newspapers, seeing text on the computer screen clearly, and as the problem worsens, even the items on a menu card. Most of them wear glasses to overcome this problem .Though many of them would prefer not wearing glasses for varied reasons, they had no alternative,at least up until now.
Bausch and Lomb have invented multifocal lenses which has greatly benefited such people. It helps people avoid having to wear reading glasses or any other type of glasses, as these could act as an impediment to several outdoor activities. On the other hand, these multifocal contact lenses help people to participate in all activities just like a person who isn't suffering from Presbyopia. Moreover, these lenses made of silicone hydrogel material that contains 36% water. This prevents inflammation of the eye and makes the whole process of wearing lenses very comfortable. The lenses are made in such a way that while you wear these multi-focal lenses, you get a clear view of everything irrespective of the distance – close or far. Furthermore, they come in all colors and you can choose pupil color to give it a natural look.

Some tips to lose weight

I was browsing the net and I came across a few tips to lose weight. Unlike most other tips, almost of these tasks can be carried out easily and with minimal costs. So, I thought I would pass on these tips so that those planning to lose weight can gain from this. Few of the tips are:

Drink plenty of water. Our body needs a lot of water so give in to water. Water is not just way to flush out toxin but if you have more water in your body you will generally feel healthier and fitter. This it self will discourage any tendency to gorge.

Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks. All the colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you.

Include in your diet things that contain more water like tomatoes and watermelons. These things contain 90 to 95 % water so that there is nothing that you have to lose by feasting on them. They fill you up without adding to the pounds.

Eat fresh fruit instead of drinking fruit juice. Juice is often sweetened but fresh fruits have natural sugars. When you eat fruit, you are taking in a lot of fiber, which is needed by the body, and fruits of course are an excellent source of vitamins.

Choose fresh fruit to processed fruits. Processed and canned fruits do not have as much fiber as fresh fruit and processed and canned fruits are nearly always sweetened.

Increase your fiber intake. Our body needs a lot of fiber. So try to include in your diet as many fruits and vegetables as you can.

Dehydration-Causes & Symptoms

Most of the people living in hot, arid regions have had to contend with Dehydration at some point of their lives. It is causes when the amount of water leaving the body is greater than the amount being consumed. The body is very dynamic and always changing. This is especially true with water in the body. We lose water routinely when we: breathe,as humidified air leaves the body, when we sweat to cool the body, and when we urinate or have a bowel movement to rid the body of waste products. In a normal day, a person has to drink a significant amount of water to replace this routine loss. If intravascular (within the blood vessels) water is lost, the body can compensate somewhat by shifting water from cells into the blood vessels, but this is a very short-term solution. Signs and symptoms of dehydration will occur quickly if the water is not replenished.Dehydration occurs because there is too much water lost, not enough water taken in, or most often a combination of the two.As the level of water loss increases, more symptoms can become apparent. The following are further signs and symptoms of dehydration: dry mouth, the eyes stop making tears, sweating may stop, muscle cramps ,nausea and vomiting and lightheadedness (especially when standing). The body tries to maintain cardiac output (the amount of blood that is pumped by the heart to the body); and if the amount of fluid in the intravascular space is decreased, the body has to increase the heart rate, which causes blood vessels to constrict to maintain blood pressure. This coping mechanism begins to fail as the level of dehydration increases. With severe dehydration, confusion and weakness will occur as the brain and other body organs receive less blood. Finally, coma and organ failure will occur if the dehydration remains untreated.

Health Care Products for the Elderly

Nowadays, in the modern world, most of us have migrated from the countryside to the cities in search of jobs, often leaving behind our grandparents. But, all of us are constantly worried about what might happen , if for instance, they fall and can't find assistance immediately. I was browsing the net recently when I came across Medical Alarm and all my worries in this regard have ceased to exist.

You might be wondering about what Medical Alarm is. It is a device created by BrickHouse Alert. It provides 24/7 assistance to elderly people. If they were to fall, it immediately sends out an alarm signal to the experts asking for assistance, without even requiring the elderly people to press an emergency button. Studies have shown that more than half of the senior citizens who suffer accidents are in no position to go in search of a button to press it and hence this is a major step forward for all these people.

While on this subject, I will also mention about another excellent product created by the same company, called GPS Tracking Bracelet. It essentially is a GPS device with a two way speaker phone, that helps elderly people who are travelling and in need for help. They can call for assistance and also tell the concerned people, where they exactly are.It is also very useful for people with Alzheimer's disease who often forget where they are and hence might wander somewhere and get lost, without this device.

Basic Diabetes Treatment

An important thing is to differentiate is between Type1 and Type2 Diabetes. Type 1 diabetes must be treated with insulin; if you have type 2 diabetes, you may not need to take insulin. This involves injecting insulin under the skin for it to work. Insulin cannot be taken as a pill because the digestive juices in the stomach would destroy the insulin before it could work. Scientists are looking for new ways to give insulin. But today, shots are the only method. There are, however, new methods to give the shots. Insulin pumps are now being widely used and many people are having great results.Patients with type 1 diabetes should have a diet that has approximately 35 calories per kg of body weight per day (or 16 calories per pound of body weight per day).Patients with type 2 diabetes generally are put on a 1500-1800 calorie diet per day to promote weight loss and then the maintenance of ideal body weight. However, this may vary depending on the person's age, sex, activity level, current weight and body style. More obese individuals may need more calories initially until their weight is less. This is because it takes more calories to maintain a larger body and a 1600 calorie diet for them may promote weight loss that is too fast to be healthy.Men have more muscle mass in general and therefore may require more calories. Muscle burns more calories per hour than fat. (Thus also one reason to regularly exercise and build up muscle!) Also, people whose activity level is low will have less daily caloric needs.
